Harmony Day was a vibrant and engaging celebration that brought our school community together through connection and participation. One of the highlights of the day was the staff vs student dance-off, which created a fun and energetic atmosphere while strengthening relationships. We learnt that Ms Gomes has moves, and that the Year 7s are great at synchronisation! This was complemented by a range of sport activities that encouraged teamwork, inclusion, and friendly competition, allowing students to further connect with their peers.
A key component of the day was the Harmony Day survey, which provided valuable insight into our students’ identities, cultures, and experiences. Through this, we were able to deepen our understanding of the diversity within our community and identify ways to better support and celebrate our students. Overall, Harmony Day was not only a celebration of cultural diversity, but also an opportunity to build belonging, student voice, and a stronger, more inclusive school culture.
